Mmmm…Nicey Booths

October 26, 2010

I can’t believe it’s been a while since the last time I did some writing in here. My hands are tight in school and things had been pretty busy there. Anyways, here I am. Tapping my fingers in the keyboards with nothing particular in mind to write. hehehehe. Geee, brain please work and stay focus, spill the beans. :) Oh, why not giving you a glimpse of my stroll with my husband at Buglasan? Yeah, why not.

Where should I start?

Guess everyone knows about this prestigious festival in Negros called Buglasan Festival celebrated annually and participated by, of course, ingenious and cooperative towns of the whole Negros. But of course, you know that. Right?

My husband and I had been thinking a lot as to when is the right time to visit Sidlakang Negros since people from all walks of life and even from different faces of Negros (not to mention foreigners) flooded the entire Sidlakan. We would not want to go there when the visiting people is at its peak. Just afraid of pickpockets, stampede ad bombs..(just paranoid). Thank God there was never any (as far as my radar can reach hehehehe).

So we finally decided to go there last  October 24, 2010.

The booths were nice. You can smell its greatness from afar. I bet, it’s worth a big deal of money. It’s worth it. At least, they got to spend only once in building booths. Unlike before, towns used to build and tear down booths each year. Thus, waste of money and effort.

And so, to the strolling off we go. We took pictures. We visited Bindoy’s Booth (my hometown). For the info of everyone, Bindoy town’s Libod-Sayaw festival got the second spot for this year’s competition. Libod-Sayaw also won in the most artistic float and the best in choreography categories. WAY TO GO, BINDOYANONS!

Then, we went from one booth to another. Unfortunately, there were couple of booth areas which were already closed.

Let me share to you some pictures we got during our vsit in Sidlakang Negros.

This is the inside of the Valencia Booth. They sell remarkable indigenous bags, display figures and even delicacies (sorry, no pictures for these things I said hehehehe ). And look at that fruit…stylish! Glad to have that on our table this fiesta. I wanted to buy lansonez but it was shockingly expensive. P120 per kilo! I don’t know what kind of lansonez was that. They also sell lansonez at P40.00 per kilo. Great, so much of Valencia lansonez.

In Bindoy booth…. this is my most favorite. This is in the very entrance of the booth. There are real fish in there. Amazing! They are like performers that keep visitors stay and be entertained.

And Lalibertad Booth…such well-made native bags. People in Lalibertad earn money from these humble products. They made  and sell  these things. Keep up the good work!

So, that was it. We had a good time. We enjoyed our strolling very much. We had the luxury of visiting from one booth to another without getting our feet stepped or  being elbowed by some strangers.

Glad we went there just as the storm of people isn’t the fiercest.

Buglasan, till next year!
